Not too long ago, Risk of Rain 2 finally left early access, launching with their 1.0 patch in August of this year – almost exactly a month from writing this, actually. The launch wasn’t the easiest one, and the developers saw some delays, but by the end of it all, the full version was released.

How to Find Your Serial Number

Your serial number is in the About window of your software. In version 7.x and earlier, go to Help > About, and in @RISK 8.x go to the @RISK menu > About.

Armor is a mostly obscured stat from the player. It applies a damage reduction on damage taken if you have it, and a damage increase if you have a negative amount. This applies to all damage taken, except the damage from a Shrine of Blood.

Damage taken is multiplied by 1 - Armor / (100 + |Armor|) . (This should be a number between 0 and 2)

If you have positive armor:

• Your damage taken is multiplied by 100 / (100 + Armor).
• This is a number between 0 and 1.
• The formula for damage reduction is: Armor / (100 + Armor).

If you have negative armor:

• Your damage taken is multiplied by 2 - 100 / (100 - Armor).
• This is a number between 1 and 2.
• Note that the negative armor is subtracted, and two negatives make a positive.
• The formula for damage increase is: 100 / (100 - Armor) - 1.

It would take 330 (+30 armor while sprinting) to get a damage reduction of 99% while sprinting. This would amount to 9900 armor.

Sources of Armor[edit | edit source]

• Playing on Drizzle grants each player a hidden item which grants 70 armor.
• Acrid, Mercenary, Loader, and REX have 20 base armor.
• MUL-T has 12 base armor.
• MUL-T's utility skill Transport Mode grants him 200 armor while it's active.
• The grants 30 armor while sprinting.
• The removes 20 armor from all characters in its radius while placed down.
• REX's Weaken/Natural Toxins removes 30 armor from targets hit.
• removes 60 armor from targets hit when fully stacked.
• Boss Monsters have base armor. See their individual pages.
• Clay Dunestrider's recovery attack, during which they will pull in all nearby characters, grants the Dunestrider 200 armor while active.
• Scavenger's item scavenging skill, grants it 200 armor while looking for an item.
• grants 500 armor while active.
